We have built the Bitcoin Card Scheme is an open, decentralized, and permissionless payment network that functions like Visa or Mastercard, but operates over the Bitcoin network. It facilitates seamless Bitcoin card transactions by managing operations, issuing, and clearing processes, while also setting rules for cardholders to make purchases with merchants. Thanks to its decentralized nature, any company, Bitcoin circular economy, or individual can join or issue cards on the network. This allows them to provide customers with human-readable payment IDs and receive funds from transactions in a secure, self-custodial way.
